We’re off to see the Wizard!

Beat the summer heat at the refreshingly air conditioned Egyptian Theatre on August 17 to see the 1939 classic, The Wizard of Oz!

Now, Dorothy & Toto narrowly won the August vote to get up on the big screen in what was easily BCM’s biggest vote yet! (Oh, Singin’ in the Rain, will the clouds ever break for thee?)

We’re showing Wizard of Oz on two nights. On this page, you can get tickets to the August 17 show with beer and wine service, so it’s a 21+ only show. If you’re not yet old enough to sip on witch’s brew, then head to the August 10 show; it’s an all ages show.

Along side Wizard of Oz, 1939 also saw Hollywood release Wuthering Heights, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, and Gone with the Wind. The real mind blower: Victor Fleming directed both The Wizard of Oz and Gone with the Wind! The Egyptian was only a 12 year-old building at its initial release. Join is in bringing a Hollywood gem back to the big screen at the Egyptian!

There’s no chance you’ve never seen the Wizard of Oz, right? Well, here’s a refresher anyway:

Dorothy Gale is swept away from a farm in Kansas to a magical land of Oz in a tornado and embarks on a quest with her new friends to see the Wizard who can help her return home in Kansas and help her friends as well.
