You KNOW you gotta cut loose!
Kick off the Sunday shoes and head to the Egyptian, because Kevin Bacon is set to light up the big screen on Saturday, June 15 at 7PM with the 1984 classic, Footloose!
This isn’t some 2011, ultra-polished, auto-tuned dumpster fire of a reboot. This is the ORIGINAL, hardcore, warehouse-dancing, tractor-chicken-playing rebellion that made dancing look macho to mid-80s teenagers. Footloose is about a city boy who comes to hicksville where both rock-n-roll and dancing are outlawed. Basically, Kevin Bacon rails against the man until he gets the law repealed in time for senior prom.
Suck it, John Lithgow! You’ve been Baconated.
Footloose is pure 80’s magic, especially the music. Its soundtrack had not one, but two nominations for Best Original Song (“Footloose,” and “Let’s Hear it for the Boy”).
There are two showings of Footloose; this page is for the 21+ showing on June 15 where we’ll have beer & wine at the prom. If you’re not yet of drinking/dancing age, head to our all-ages show on June 12.
