About This MovieMore

Online ticket sales close at 1:00PM on the day of the show, but you can still purchase tickets at the Egyptian Theatre box office.

It’s true! Army of Darkness is coming to the Egyptian on October 10th!

Ash kicks off BCM’s Halloween movie series, featuring titles of YOUR choosing.

If you know Ash, read no further. Heck, you probably already have your tickets and are spamming all your friends, and I’m just talking to myself here. You’re shopping smart. Shop S-Mart.

If you aren’t aware of Ash, hang on! Bruce “The Chin” Campbell stars as the reluctant (yet surprisingly effective) Ash, who’s been sucked back in time a few hundred years to find and vanquish the evil powers of the Necronomicon. Part Game of Thrones, part Walking Dead, part Three Stooges, Army of Darkness is a masterpiece of self-deprecating horror. It’s about 1/10th as scary as it is funny. One-liners accompany the triumphs of our clumsy hero (who is only a hero to the medieval rubes around him). It’s a cult favorite you’ll be glad to add to your repertoire.

Here’s the skinny:

In this sequel to the Evil Dead films, a discount-store employee (“Name’s Ash. Housewares.”) is time-warped to a medieval castle beset by monstrous forces. Initially mistaken for an enemy, he is soon revealed as the prophecised savior who can quest for the Necronomicon, a book which can dispel the evil. Unfortunately, he screws up the magic words while collecting the tome, and releases an army of skeletons, led by his own Deadite counterpart. What follows is a thrilling, yet tongue-in-cheek battle between Ash’s 20th Century tactics and the minions of darkness. –from IMDB
