Help us celebrate the birth of J.R.R. Tolkien–born January 3, 1892–by dressing up as your favorite character and heading to the Egyptian to see Fellowship of the Ring on January 6, 2018. Name something better to do on a January Saturday (or any Saturday)!

Last year we did an all-day, three-movie marathon. It was a ton of fun, but pretty brutal on the keister. So this year, we’re going to break the trilogy up by doing one movie a week.


Life is good as a Hobbit. You get to eat, drink, garden, eat, smoke your pipe, live in an underground house, eat, go barefoot, avoid boats, never have to shave, and eat. What’s not to love?

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Extended Edition will show at the Egyptian Theatre on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 6:00PM. Tickets bought online are $9. Doors open at 5PM; all seating is open. If tickets remain on the day of the show, they can be purchased at the Egyptian box office for $11. When 100 tickets are purchased, payments will be collected and tickets will be issued for you to print out from this website and bring with you on the night of the screening. No admission without a ticket. If 100 tickets fail to sell, no payments will be collected, no tickets will be issued, and no movie will be screened.
